Rafting in Umbria, in Serravalle di Norcia

Rafting is an exciting group sport suitable for everyone, on the river aboard special inflatable rafts. The crew, made up of 2 to 6 people, steers the raft through the rapids using paddles.

On each raft, there will be one of our guides ready to lead you along the route and give commands for the maneuvers.

You will be the crew, as well as the protagonists of the raft, each with an active role.

More than twenty years ago, Gaia “introduced,” despite the skepticism of many, rafting in Norcia.

What was a passion for us became accessible to many people, creating a true industry for responsible tourism, based on enjoying natural resources rather than exploiting them.

Over time, many have followed our example, and rafting has become a top attraction in the area.

Every time we prepared for the raft descent near the ruins of the station, the thought crossed our minds about how appropriate and beautiful it would be to restore and use it.

Now, after many years of oblivion, the Serravalle di Norcia Railway Station (article from iluoghidelsilenzio.it), thanks to Umbria Mobilità and Gaia, is being revived, and here we have moved the base from the historic location of Biselli di Norcia.

Those who used to board the train to overcome the isolation of the Valnerina from the rest of the world will now be replaced by those who, this time boarding rafting boats, will want to enjoy one of the most captivating landscapes of our region along the beautiful Corno River valley.

The Station also serves as the base for a series of outdoor activities (trekking, biking, horseback riding, etc.) and is a stop on the Grande Anello della Valnerina – Valnerina Circuit.

An Info Point, designed to make activities accessible to people with disabilities, completes the service offerings.
